FR Clothing and OSHA Requirements

As we have seen over the past few months OSHA has started to increase their presence in the workforce to keep employers safe on the job.  Along with this, OSHA is also looking at the use of Flame Resistant and Fire retardant Treated Clothing.  OSHA is expecting compliance officers to issue citations if necessary when employers fail to provide or ensure the use of such clothing on the job.

There are jobs being preformed where having the proper clothing is necessary to keep workers safe.  Flash fires can be an issue on certain jobs and that is why having the necessary and proper FR Clothing is critical to keep workers safety in mind.

Citations should be issued when employers fail to properly take care of employee owned FR Clothing, and when FR Clothing has become defective or damaged.
